How Liquid Magic Works

Liquid Magic uses Distillers Condensed Solubles (DCS) combined with Magnesium Chloride to create a powerful, environmentally responsible ice control solution.

What is DCS?

DCS is a byproduct of the distilling industry, most commonly sourced from vodka or rum production. It is a slurry of complex sugars and low molecular-weight carbohydrates. The manufacturers of Original Magic source DCS globally to ensure the highest quality available.

DCS naturally provides corrosion-inhibiting properties, making Liquid Magic unique among ice control products. Unlike many competitors, no chemical corrosion inhibitors are added.

Why Magnesium Chloride?

Magnesium Chloride is recognized as the least corrosive chloride in the chloride family and performs reliably in extremely cold temperatures.

Creating Original Magic Treated Salt

Liquid Magic can be sprayed directly onto untreated rock salt to create Original Magic Treated Salt.

Application Rate: 8 gallons of Liquid Magic per ton of rock salt.

Liquid Magic can be applied using: Tank with trash pump, Hydro seeder, Seal coting tank, dedicated de-icing tank. This flexibility allows contractors and municipalities to integrate Liquid Magic into existing operations with minimal equipment changes.
